Giant's commitment to the sport of cycling
is clearly recognized through its
sponsorship of both professional and amateur
cycling teams, at both the international and
regional level. Giant currently sponsors two
highly visible international race teams, the
Global Giant Mountain Bike Team and the ONCE
level 1 road team.
Sponsorship allows Giant to give back to the cycling community while simultaneously enabling product developers to see their designs in real world settings. Ultimately the effort of our racers finds its way into every Giant bicycle.
The successes of Giant riders are almost too numerous to mention in one place. Of recent note are victories on both the road and in the dirt. In 1999 the World #1 road ranking went to ONCE rider Laurent Jalabert. In the dirt, Rune Hoydahl is the winningest rider in World Cup history, his latest win at the 2000 Napa Valley event (all of his nine, wins have been aboard a Giant). And in 2000, Myles Rockwell rocketed to the World Downhill Championship in Seirra Nevada, Spain. All over the world riders in every classification are standing atop the podium, delivered by Giant bicycles.
In addition to its
international prescence, Giant is active in
sponsoring numerous national teams,
including those in Taiwan, Japan and China.
Giant also sponsors professional and amatuer
teams, as well as individual racers in the
United States, Australia, Canada, Belgium,
New Zealand and South East Asia.
